News to date April 20th 2007 : The Lions Club are preparing a weekend of celebrations around December 1st and 2nd to recognise the actual birthday of the town of St.Marys. Much of the activities will be around the hall and surrounding area but also there will be things happening at the Recreation Ground. Full details will be published on the site as soon as the planning and preparations are completed. Keep the 1st and 2nd of December free in your diary.

Celebrations
are under way now with two events already a great success, the Race Day and Pony Club Day were well attended and a great time was had by all. The Opening of the Railway Station is next on the list so mark it in your schedule. The Back to St.Marys Day, Photo Competition, St.Patricks Day events on Saturday 17th March ( Don't miss it )

Michael Polley visited St.Marys on Tuesday 1st of August and presented St.Marys Association for Community Development (SMACD) cheque and commitment for $5,000 towards the Sesquicentennial Celebrations for 2007. SMACD has developed a website www.stmarystasmania.com.au to advertise the celebration around the world. Mr Polley suggested that the Break O’Day Council could match the Government contribution for this major event in the history of the area. Mr Polley also purchased a few of the locally produced Next Generation & Others Calender. There have been a number of events organised throughout 2007 to celebrate the 150 year birthday Celebrations will begin with the Sesquicentennial St.Marys Races on New Years Day 2007 with events being held throughout the year culmination in the Birthday Celebration on the 1st December 2007.
