Michael
Polley visited St.Marys on Tuesday 1st of August and presented St.Marys
Association for Community Development (SMACD) cheque and commitment
for $5,000 towards the Sesquicentennial Celebrations for 2007. SMACD
has developed a website www.stmarystasmania.com.au to advertise
the celebration around the world. Mr Polley suggested that the Break
O’Day Council could match the Government contribution for
this major event in the history of the area. Mr Polley also purchased
a few of the locally produced Next Generation & Others Calender.
There have been a number of events organised throughout 2007 to
celebrate the 150 year birthday Celebrations will begin with the
Sesquicentennial St.Marys Races on New Years Day 2007 with events
being held throughout the year culmination in the Birthday Celebration
on the 1st December 2007.
