Upcoming Events

There are many events to be held in the Sesquicentennial Year in 2007 and all have been named to help celebrate the 150th birthday of the town of St.Marys. You are welcome to come and attend any of the events listed below :


January 2007 - St.Marys Sesquicentennial Race Day
This event will be held on New Years Day 1st January 2007 at the Recreation Grounds in St.Marys. It will be a wonderful family event so keep the day free and come along and enjoy a good old country race meeting. ( As usual a great day was had by all with good attentance)

February 2007 - Sesquicentennial Dressage & Pony Club Rally
This will be held on February 4th at the recreation grounds at St.Marys and will include show jump, zone games, formation ride to music, flatwork and dressage. Pony rides will be available with canteen facilities, a natural horsemanship display and riding for the disabled display.( This day was a great success with many people attending and we hope to see more of this in St Marys in the future.)

March 2007 - Sesquicentennial St.Patricks Day & Back to St.Marys Day
including all the fun of the usual St.Patricks Day activities and the draw of the photo competition. This year this weekend will contain the events surrounding the celebration of the 150 year birthday of the town. Held on March 17th it will included all kinds of activities. The photo comp. will be held at the Escape Cafe. It is the opening of the St.Marys Railway Station with markets, presentations, food and lots of fun for the kids. See Invitation Poster Here>>>
(A great time was had by all, hundreds of people flocked to the area around the Old Railway station that has now been converted into a modern cafe and history room. The markets were well received and the awards were presented to the long term residents. The photo competition began at the Escape Cafe. April - St.Marys Sesquicentennial Anzac Day
Held in the park next to the Town Hall. There will also be a Targa Show & Shine Day for all car enthusiasts

May - Mothers Day Tea
10am May 9th 2007

June - Sesquicentennial Winters Solstice Celebration(date to be displayed later)
June 1st -14th Model Railway Display
at the Community Hall. A large display that will fill the hall. A world renowned railway buff will set the display up. There will be a small entry fee.

June 1st - 24th - History of Transport including the St.Marys Car Show - Held in the Community Hall it will include all kinds of cars during the time. The hall will be full of cars and motoring memoriabilia. The dispaly day will also be held on Faulkners green.
The Quilt Hanging will also happen over this time. There will be a car display on the final day and also the hanging of the quilts.

November - Remembrance Day

December - Sesquicentennial Birthday Party
The Lions Club are planning a birthday weekend with loads of activities to celebrate the actual birthday of St.Marys. A lot of the focus will be in and around the hall but the recreation ground will also be used in the festivities. Stay tuned for a list of the activities, we will be updating the site when the actual list becomes available. For further details ask Harry at the St.Marys Post Office.
